Established in San Francisco in 2003, the FOR-SITE Foundation fosters the creation, understanding, and presentation of art about place. Based on the belief that art can inspire fresh thinking and important dialogue about our natural and cultural environment, FOR-SITE’s acclaimed exhibitions and installations connect contemporary artists with compelling natural and historic sites. Art About Place: FOR-SITE Foundation at the Presidio looked back at six years of artistic collaborations within the Golden Gate National Recreational Area in partnership with the Presidio Trust, the Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy, and the National Park Service. The exhibition showcased the projects Goldsworthy in the Presidio, International Orange, and Presidio Habitats.
