Lands End
November 07, 2021 – March 27, 2022 at the former Cliff House
Installed in San Francisco’s former Cliff House, a shuttered dining establishment perched on the edge of the Pacific that dates back to the 1860s, Lands End brings together work by 27 contemporary artists and collectives from 14 countries to reflect on the fragility of the planet’s health, linking the climate crisis to critical issues ranging from racial equity to forced migration. New commissions and recent works in a variety of media are on view throughout the exhibition, connecting to the former restaurant’s spaces in compelling and unexpected ways. This contemplative labyrinth provides unique encounters with the artists’ close explorations of climate, crisis, and ecology. Presented in partnership with the National Park Service and co-curated by FOR-SITE’s Executive Director Cheryl Haines and guest curator Trisha Lagaso Goldberg, Lands End continues FOR-SITE commitment to addressing urgent issues through art about place.
